Walmart is closing 269 stores, more than half of them in the U.S. and another big chunk in its challenging Brazilian market. This also includes some Sam's Club stores which is owned by Walmart. To see if stores are closing in your area look here:

I think they said something about close some small relay stores, about 10,000 will be unemployed ? not certain? I only use them for on line shopping. :)

Some of the small older stores need to be closed as they probably need remodeling, etc. and they prolly don't want to spend the extra money. If Walmart treated their customers and employees better they probably wouldn't have as many problems. Legal issues are costing them a pretty penny, I'm sure...
